This starry-eyed rabbit (out partying with this one perhaps?) comes courtesy of a technique shared by Carla Sonheim. It’s textural and literally rough around the edges. A gesso’d tea box panel, watercolor, color markers and a black Sharpie. Then sprayed with an acrylic coat which pops the color and lends a finished gloss (not to mention holding the box together—note the perforations at his backside). The combination yields unexpected results because the markers and watercolor react strangely with the gesso ground.
