Sketch-A-Day EUROPE 2014 — 1 of 21

I recently traveled Europe—notably Italy, Germany, and France by way of Switzerland and Iceland (the homeward leg). I did a sketch each day as personal mementos, and will share them until the run is done.

Today I start with the quintessential Il Duomo di Firenze (Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence, Italy) as seen from Giotto’s Tower (Campanile di Giotto).

  1. I remember standing up there on top of the cupola in 1980, listening to “Platinium” by Mike Oldfield. And again in 2006, with my wife and daughter. A very special building and a very special city.
