Kids Art Week – Crayon Resist Night Sky

Get out your crayons. Yeah, the box of Crayolas in the back of your desk drawer buried under layers of return address labels and memo pads you’ve collected over the years from all those charities vying for guilt dollars.

Roll up your sleeves and start layering! Diane Culhane shows you how. Free instructions are in Lesson#2 of  Kids Art Week.

Bullet train to Paris — they are FAST!  Nearly 200 mph fast.  First night in our VRBO apartment looking across the River Seine at a beautifully illuminated Notre Dame.  Great location.

Loggia della Signoria, outside Palazzo Vecchio on a corner of the Piazza della Signoria. This is adjacent to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. There are more sculptures here (and people!) than I depicted.

Sketch-A-Day EUROPE 2014 — 1 of 21

I recently traveled Europe—notably Italy, Germany, and France by way of Switzerland and Iceland (the homeward leg). I did a sketch each day as personal mementos, and will share them until the run is done.

Today I start with the quintessential Il Duomo di Firenze (Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence, Italy) as seen from Giotto’s Tower (Campanile di Giotto).
