Le Jardin du Luxembourg is an expansive garden in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Sculptures are peppered everywhere throughout its many promenades and this little lady was undeniably the cagiest of the bunch. I HAD to sketch her. She is Marguerite d’Angouleme (Reine De Navarre, 1492–1549).

Bullet train to Paris — they are FAST! Nearly 200 mph fast. First night in our VRBO apartment looking across the River Seine at a beautifully illuminated Notre Dame. Great location.

Our German hostess insisted we train to Basel, Switzerland for a day and must, must, MUST walk through the old city area to Gilgen Bakery. “Best Apfelstrudel ever!” We were not disappointed.
